Good idea, not my favourite
I have had my leaf for just over a week now and here is an honest account of how it has been for me.
I like the versatility of how you can wear it, and I also dislike the versatility.
1. Worn as a clip on the waistband - good for when you are doing the breathing exercises (which I really like because they do help to relax you) or for sleeping (assuming you dont sleep nude) but depending on the type of waistband, it will sometimes fall off when you go to use the bathroom. And you never know when it will until it has happened. Ive almost lost it in the toilet a few times. (Also then it falls on the floor which can be gross if out in a public bathroom, but you also risk damage to the leaf)
2. Worn as a clip on my bra/shirt - no issues while going to the bathroom, stays put and is fairly comfy. The downside is that when I take off said bra or shirt I sometimes forget it is there and then have to hunt it down later in a mild panic, fitness at this time is not being tracked.
3. Worn as a bracelet - good option if you are not doing anything that causes it to be in the way (ie: dishes, gardening) and are using it as an accessory only. It can be a little bulky depending on what size your wrist is, but looks nice. Good for sleeping, but does not track sleep properly.
4. Worn as a necklace - this is a good all around option except I found it did not track my sleep well when worn this way. I did find that because it is a little bulky, doing anything that involves a lot of active movement like running and jumping, will cause it to flop around on your chest. I made the chain that came with it able to fit through both fasteners on it so it could be worn horizontally across my chest rather than hang down vertically and this made it more secure and more comfortable for me.
It seems to keep a fairly accurate count of my steps, but the sleep tracker is sometimes a little bit off and the fertility tracker (for me) is the biggest issue. It only tracks ovulation based on your estimated period and not by basal body temperature. This means that the day it says you are ovulating may not actually be the day you ovulate, especially for women who have really long or irregular cycles or for women who have come off of hormonal birth control. (Ovulation can take months or even years to return after the use of hormonal birth control, and the return of periods dont indicate ovulation) And for those who are trying to become pregnant, this can also be an issue, especially if they have been trying with no success. (In which case I would highly recommend researching the fertility awareness method before considering yourself infertile. "Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler is a great book for this. Sorry for the plug, but it cleared up a lot of questions I had regarding my cycles and my own fertility. Especially after having been on hormonal birth control for years.)
All in all, I like the breathing exercises and the step counter, the look of the leaf itself is very nice, the easiness of the app is great but the versatility of how it can be worn is both a positive and negative for me, but unfortunately a little bit more on the negative. Like 45/55 pos to neg. simply because in between switching it around and the few times I lose it in the house I also lose fitness data, and have almost lost it to a watery porcelain grave a few times.
If you are looking for a basic step counter and a nice piece of jewelry, then the leaf is great, however I would not recommend it for any type of serious ovulation tracking, even if you have regular cycles. Also you can buy cheaper step counters, cheaper jewelry that is less bulky and there are free ovulation/period tracking apps.
Also, I am now finding that it is not tracking my sleep properly unless I wear it only on my waist band at night, which is annoying because I ( upcoming tmi, sorry) do like to sleep nude. Thinking of sending it back.
